Join MasterChef: The Professionals 2026 winner Gareth Baty in our new warehouse space LOCAL HQ as he presents his winning menu inspired by his own life and rooted in memory, nostalgia and his family.
The Chef
A self-taught chef from Cumbria, Gareth started out hosting supper clubs in his East London flat, cooked soul food in Harlem, worked a farm kitchen in the Lake District, and built a kitchen from scratch in Newcastle's own Brinkburn Brewery.
The Menu
Now working as a private chef under the name The Wandering Cumbrian, Gareth creates personalised dining experiences that show off his flair for storytelling through food. The five-course menu for his LOCAL HQ pop up includes the deeply personal dishes that impressed the Masterchef: The Professionals judges. His locally sourced and seasonal menu begins with his take on cheesy chips, moving through seafood and chicken courses devoted to his mother and late father before closing out the meal with a pair of desserts dedicated to his wife’s family.
Event Rundown
Doors open at 7PM with welcome drinks
The dinner will be seated supper-club style in a communal dining experience. All tickets booked together will be seated together
The first course will be served at around 7.30PM, with Gareth presenting and talking through each dish of his winning menu. The evening is expected to finish at around 10PM.
We have chosen a selection of wines to complement the menu which can be bought by the glass. Other wines, beers and non-alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase, please get in touch if you’d like to select something specific from our range to be chilled in advance.
